Easter eggs and secrets in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
- Rescue Hideo Kojima: In Side Op 112: Intel Agent Extraction you can rescue Hideo Kojima, the game's director; he'll head back to Mother Base.
- Kojima Productions Poster: After being rescued from the Man on Fire in the prologue, in the corridor you follow, look at the cork board on the left for a Kojima Productions 'Join the Fox Team' poster and a GDC 2013 booth number (CP 2308).
- Birthday Cake: You enter your birthday when starting a new game; play on that day and a party with cake and cigars waits at Mother Base.
- Silent Hills / PT Recording: In Africa near the site of Mission 20: Voices, a radio on the floor in a corner of a tent plays the same horrific-murder recording heard in PT.
- Secret Alternate Intro: Select New Game+, wait for the opening song to finish, then start to burn the Joker to see a secret alternate intro with different commentary.
- Solar Charging: When your night-vision battery and Rocket Arm run low, run/sprint when the sun is brightest to recharge. If on fire while in the cardboard box, dash to extinguish the flames.
