Tips and secrets for Death Stranding.
1.Secret Otter Hat (Conan O'Brien Easter Egg)
Find Conan at the Cosplayer facility in the Central Region. 1. Accept Order No. 37 for Sam (Sewing Kit Delivery: Cosplayer) — it appears after Order 38 at a random Central Region terminal (usually 'South Knot City' or 'Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City'). 2. Deliver the cargo to the Cosplayer to meet Conan O'Brien, who gives the Otter Hat. 3. Equip it from the inventory (Up) — in water you get more control, quicker paddling and barrel rolls.
2.Reverse Trike
Parked outside the Distribution Center west of Capital Knot City; it needs a power source. Complete the 'Power Supply Unit Delivery: Wind Farm' order (infiltrate the MULE camp + Chiron Crystal collection) to unlock fabricating Generators with the PCC. To repair the Trike, drive it into a Distribution Center and take it to your Private Room to auto-repair. It carries much more cargo. (Alternatively, collect Memory Chip #31 for the hidden 'Ride' fabrication plan and craft it at a terminal.)
3.Fast Travel
Unlocks early in Episode 3: Fragile — reach the first Distribution Center and talk to Fragile in the Private Room. Focusing on the Umbrella lets you travel to major hubs on the Chiral Network. Note: items you carry transfer to that Distribution Center's Private Locker — you can't bring items with you.
4.Covered Backpack Upgrade
Convince the optional Collector Prepper just south of the Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City to join the UCA. It protects all gear in your backpack (attacks won't knock it loose, MULEs can't grab it with Sticky Guns, and it's rain-protected). Bring a Climbing Anchor to reach him; do the 'Deliver Old Game Console' quest to get in good (he won't join before Episode 6).
5.Easy Trophies
- I Couldn't Hold It In!: In the wilderness, hold Right + Up to select 'Urinate', L2 to aim, R2 to go.
- Soak And Sigh: Enter one of seven hot springs and press Circle to sit (one is southwest of the Film Director).
- Sleep Tight, Little BB: Run down a hill and trip on rocks so Sam lands on his chest; BB cries, soothe with L1 + Down + Square.
- Rest In Pieces: Get the Cord Cutter in Episode 5, then in a BT area scan with R1 and cut an umbilical cord with Square.
- Public Service Porter: Grab contaminated cargo near the Junk Dealer and throw it into the tar lake to the south with R2+Square (release Square as Sam swings his arm).
- Pathfinder: Stun all enemies in a MULE camp with the Non-Lethal Assault Rifle (rubber bullets).
