Unlocking Modes & Endings
Ultimate, Nightmare, Boss Rush and true ending.
Unlocking modes and endings in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.
1.Ultimate Mode
Beat Normal mode but kill your companions (Miriam, Alfred, Gebel) instead of recruiting them. Zangetsu gains their souls and a special ability from each. In Ultimate mode bosses are enhanced with new attacks and more health.
2.Nightmare Mode
Beat the game on Normal mode. Nightmare mode continues the story and gives immediate access to all characters except Zangetsu. Bosses are enhanced, the last level is completely different, and you face a new final boss.
3.True Ending
Complete Nightmare mode to get the True Ending.
4.Boss Rush Mode
Unlocking both Nightmare and Ultimate modes automatically unlocks Boss Rush. You control all four party members and a selection of their subweapons (only one subweapon per character per fight). Zangetsu doesn't have his special abilities from the Bad Ending route.
